Integrating drains in waterproofings

HL offers different sizes of waterproofing kits suitable to the different drain-categories. On using HL83.0, HL84.0 and HL86.0 (waterproofing kits with clamping rings), membranes supplied by the employer can be clamped securely to the drains.

These waterproofing kits consist of a stainless steel flange 196x114mm, a lip seal, a membrane collar Dm. 400mm and 6 screws. This size suits the following drains of the categories "floor", "balcony" and "terrace":
HL70, HL80 series, HL81G series, HL90, HL92, HL300, HL304, HL310N series and HL510N series.
The installation is easy:
Insert the lip seal into the radial groove of the drain flange. Then apply the membrane collar centered and fix it with the stainless steel flange to the drain body by using the screws. Take care that the knobs of the drain-flange suit to the recesses of the stainless steel flange so that the drill holes of flange and drain body fit on top of each other.
Another requirement for secure waterproofing is the choice of the right membrane suiting to the used waterproofing material. HL offers waterproofing kits featuring membranes for the following waterproofing materials:

• HL83 with EPDM collar (ethylene-propylene-terpolymere-rubber) for
  - EPDM-waterproofing
  - bituminous coatings, bituminised boards and bituminous membranes (processing temperature max. 180° C)
• HL83.M with Montaplast-B collar (3 - ply textile membrane with rubber inlay) for
  - ternative waterproofing using 2-components epoxy resin
  - 2-components epoxy dispersions
• HL83.P with flange PVC for
  - agglutinating or welding to PVC-membranes
• HL83.B with lead collar for
  - lead waterproofing
• HL83.H with bitumen membrane collar for
  - lap-joint waterproofing with bituminous membranes
  > this type of waterproofing kit should only be used as problem solver when the usage of drains with bitumen membrane welded on at the factory is no longer possible!

On using HL83 series please take care that water reaching the membrane can flow off through the drain itself! Therefore remove the O-ring from the grate frame or the extension respectively or use the specially designed gravel guard HL180!

Theses waterproofing kits consist of a stainless steel flange 220x155mm, a clamping ring, a membrane collar dm. 500mm and an adapter. This size suits the following drains of the category "floor":
HL72.1 and HL317.
The installation is effected as follows:
Apply the membrane collar centered to the drain-flange and fix it by pushing the stainless steel flange until it snaps into the drain body. The adapter makes sure that the grate frame or the raising piece gets centered and that the water reaching the membrane can flow off through the drain itself.
On using membranes supplied by the employer with HL84.0 please take care that this mebrane is not thicker than 2 mm and flexible or expandable.

For roof drains of the series HL60, HL61, HL62, HL63, HL64 and HL69 HL offers specially designed waterproofing kits:

• HL84.CU with copper sheet
  - for the installation in copper shieldings
• HL84.E with zincplated steel sheet
  - for the installation in steel shieldings
• HL84.H with bitumen membrane collar for
  - lap-joint waterproofing with bituminous membranes
  > this type of waterproofing kit should only be used as problem solver when the usage of drains with bitumen membrane welded on at the factory is no longer possible!

These waterproofing kits consist of a stainless steel flange 278x198mm, a lip seal, a membrane collar dm. 500mm and 8 screws.
This size suits the drains of the new "Perfekt"-series (magnum drains for garages, park decks, yards, etc.).
The installation is effected in the same way as HL83 series.

• HL86.B with lead collar for
  - lead sealings
• HL86.H with bitumen membrane collar for
  - lap-joint waterproofing with bituminous membranes

HL offers a variety of drains featuring bitumen membranes welded directly to the drain body as the ultimate solution when using bituminous waterproofing. A very sophisticated procedure guarantees a secure joint between the bitumen membrane and the plastic of the drain body. These drains are denominates with the appendix "H", which replaced the old appendices "HUL" or "hulbit" and means "Hutterer and Lechner Bitumen".
